Beautiful Hound Mix Who's Been at Shelter for 4 Years Just Wants a Home for Christmas
The holiday season is about giving. So why don't you give a deserving dog a new home? Jorah is an adorable Hound mix at the Dogwood Animal Shelter in Camdenton, Missouri, who is looking for a new family. Won't someone come and scoop this good boy up?
Jorah is a lovebug. So a good boy like him needs someone who likes to cuddle on the couch.
If you've been wondering when the right time is to adopt a dog, that time is now! Just think, with all the time off work for the holidays, you could be getting to know your new pet. And that pet could be a sweet Mountain Cur/Plott Hound mix like 5-year-old Jorah here. The shelter shared just a little glimpse of the dog in the footage they shared. They even put a pair of antlers on him — he could really be the perfect Christmas gift.

People in the comments section were hoping that the right person would see Jorah's video and end his shelter stay. "He’s precious. How could he not be adopted?" one commenter wondered. "I’ve always wanted a clingy dog!" another person chimed in. "Boosting to find his forever home for Christmas," someone else added. While another person chose to vouch for the little guy: "I can mention that I have this mixed breed and they are very affectionate, very smart, loyal and loving. Anyone who adopts this beauty won’t regret it," they wrote.
All About Jorah
Of course, you wouldn't want to adopt a dog without knowing a little about their personality, right? Here's what you need to know before scooping Jorah up. First thing first, Jorah has been at the shelter for a long time. The Mountain Cur/Plott Hound mix has been at the shelter for 4 years — "that's 1,416 nights alone," the shelter pointed out.
"Jorah was abandoned on farmland when he was a puppy, so he's spent most of his life at the shelter," they explained.
At one point, the shelter had hope for the dog. He was adopted, but then returned because his then-owner thought the dog was "too clingy." How rude!
There are so many dogs like Jorah in the shelter system. Which is why you should bring one home today. You can go to the Dogwood Animal Shelter website to learn more information about adopting the pup or any of his friends. We just know that Jorah's perfect family is out there. And they'll be so happy once they find their perfect pup.
