A story on the internet is a strong reason why you need to make every moment count with your dog — especially their last ones. One woman from Florida knew her senior Golden Retriever was living through his final days. So she decided to do something special for the holidays and now she's encouraging others to do the same.

Makenzie Cann is facing the hardest part of a pet owner's life, saying goodbye. Her senior Golden, Raffi, was ailing. Which is why it was so important that they make one final memory together.

The Golden doesn't walk like he used to, but Cann was determined to make sure he saw the Christmas lights this year. The woman pulled out her trusty wagon and placed the senior dog inside. She then wheeled him around to see the display. The Golden Retriever loved it. And more to the point, it was a something they'd share forever.

"This is a sign to make sure your senior dog gets to see the Christmas lights this year," Cann wrote in the caption. "I cried," she admitted.

Is this not the sweetest thing in the world? Commenters were practically tearing up. "Your videos are so touching and good for the soul. Merry Christmas!" one person praised. "My dog Layka died almost two months ago, your videos are so cute," chimed in someone else. "I just cry happy tears when I see Raffi smile like that!!!’ You are an amazing dog mom!!! He is so loved," gushed someone else. "I absolutely love this! He knows how much you love him!" another person commented.

The Golden Retriever Passed Recently

It's always tragic to say goodbye. In a video update Cann posted, she shared that Raffi passed away.

In a touching tribute, the dog mom put all of her pup's favorite stuffies on their trees this year for Christmas. The video shows the dog watching her as she puts each and every one of them in the tree one final time.

"Our final stuffy of the day," she wrote in the text overlay. Absolutely gut-wrenching.

On their final night together, Cann and Raffi had a slumber party and watched his favorite movie, "Air Bud: World Pup." They had a snuggle and just relished the time they had together.

Are you crying? Because we're totally crying. We're just glad that these two got some closure before Raffi passed. So if you've been putting off certain traditions with your dog, don't wait! Those memories will help you through the hard times, trust us.
