Best of Miami Art Week 2024: 12 Highlights from Art Basel and Beyond
Miami Art Week is a catchall term for the solar system that revolves around the Art Basel Miami Beach fair, which opens today in South Beach. Over the years, the sale of blue-chip contemporary work by the world's most important dealers at the Miami Beach Convention Center has exploded like a supernova and launched into orbit a whole range of independent satellite fairs, gallery exhibits, museum openings, designer label anniversaries, luxury product activations, even, this year, a party for “It” water bottles—that would be Pharrell's designs for Evian. Along the way, some great art will be on display—283 exhibitors from 38 countries at the main fair alone—including, perhaps, by a brand new star.
