Energetic Vizsla Meeting New Baby Is Overcome by Love at First Sight
Vizlas are known for their boundless energy, and this one looks ready to play when her family comes home with a surprising new member. She rushes up to one of the adults, ball in her mouth, ready to chase, but drops it upon seeing the tiny baby in the car seat carrier.
I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
You can tell that Lulu the Vizsla is experiencing the adorable pangs of love at first sight. Gently, she prods her nose into the carrier to sniff the baby, and she’s a total goner. Suddenly, the energy is nothing, and what we really see is the other famous characteristics of a villa coming to the forefront—their loyal, sociable nature. In one clip, she’s lying patiently by the baby’s side as the infant pets her, in a mother, she’s snoozing right next to the baby, or gently sniffing her toys. In each instance, she’s calm, patient, gentle, and above all—still. What a gorgeous portrait of affection between a dog and her (human) baby. I know they were only grow closer and more in love as the years go by.

Babies and Dogs
In most cases, dogs are very good with children and instinctively understand them to be both delicate and to other members of the family who deserve their love and respect. After all, dogs have lived among humans and their families for tens of thousands of years. Dogs that didn’t treat children well rarely survived to have dogs of their own. Of course, it pays to start with well-trained and good-natured dogs, as there are certainly individual dogs who are not good with children and should not be allowed unsupervised around your youngsters.
When it comes to ensuring a good relationship between your dog and the new baby of the household, it pays to be patient and to teach the dog to respect the baby, and for the baby to respect the dog. Children should also learn that dogs are living beings with feelings. Hair and tails should not be pulled, for example.
All About the Vizsla
Vizslas are an energetic gun dog bred for hunting and pointing. They are known for being balls of pure energy, with a high activity need and a strong prey drive. They are playful and affectionate, but not necessarily the dog you should go for if you aren’t willing to give them the amount of exercise and activity they require.
Vizslas are a smooth-coated dog with a distinctive, deep red coloring and big, floppy ears. They are often mistaken for other red-coated dogs, but are recognizable for their comparatively light-colored eyes and nose, which are referred to as “self” coloring, as they closely match the color of the fur.
Vizslas are intelligent and extremely loyal dogs that want to be near their families at all times. In fact, Vizslas may be considered nosy or even intrusive by people who don’t like their dogs joining them in the bathroom or in bed. But if you’re the kind of person that loves a cuddle with your dog, or doesn’t mind your dog poking their head in your baby’s crib, as in this video, then a Vizsla might be right for you. Just make sure you’re adequately prepared to see to their immense need for activity and exercise.
