Does your dog have a favorite human? Someone that they get ridiculously excited to see any and every time they see them? For my dog, it's one of my daughters. Even if she leaves the room and comes back in a minute later, my dog acts like it's party time. Baby Pancake is an adorable English Bulldog who has more than one favorite person, and they are her human cousins. Pancake's mom shared a video on Monday, December 2nd of how the dog reacts when she sees her cousins, and it will totally make you smile!

The video is only 9 seconds long, but that's all you need to see the cute little wiggle Pankcake does out of pure excitement. As soon as she sees her cousins coming to play, she starts to wiggle her bum, and it made me instantly happy. Make sure your sound is on because the song that accompanies the wiggle is perfection!

This made me smile and I've watched it at least three times! Pancake's bum wiggles made my day! Commenters all agreed that the English Bulldog's video is precious. @AngelWings92 said, "Cutest no tail shakin' wiggle butt ever!!!" @Jezza Belle pointed out, "It's the Bulldog booty shake!" and @JT added, "She's a Polaroid picture!"

Do Dogs Have Favorite People?

If you have a fur baby, chances are you've noticed that there might be one or two people that they adore more than others. I mentioned my dog adores my daughter, and I come in a close second. Is it true that dogs actually play favorites? ElleVet Sciences says yes. "The short answer is yes, most dogs do have favorite people... domesticated pets depend on their people to meet virtually all their needs—food, shelter, and even access to the bathroom—these dog-human bonds are strong. Dogs quickly identify and gravitate towards those who benefit them with things like treats, playtime, or physical affection."

It makes sense that the person or people who most give the dog things that they want or need would be their favorite. The quality of time you spend with them matters, not just that you give them attention or a treat. I work from home and spend all day, every day with our dog, but that doesn't necessarily mean we spend quality time together. My daughter chooses to spend time with the dog, and it's usually snuggling up in her bed, the dog's favorite place to hang out and sleep.

How can you tell if you're the favorite? ElleVet share some of the most obvious clues:

  • Eye contact with a soft, loving gaze

  • Physical contact, including licking, leaning, and sleeping with you

  • Gifts, like bringing you their favorite toy

  • Excited greetings whenever you walk in the room or return home

Dogs may not be able to say, "I love you", but they definitely can show us that they do!
