Golden Retriever Overcome With Uncontrollable Excitement After ‘Girlfriend’ Comes for a Visit

There's nothing more exciting than waiting to see your best friend, and after watching Benny the Golden Retriever's video, I guess it's true for our fur babies, too. Benny's mom shared a video on Tuesday, December 3rd of what happens when she tells Benny that his girlfriend Quincy is coming for a sleepover, and his anticipation while waiting for her is the cutest thing you'll see today.

Once Benny heard mom say Quincy's name, he started pacing and checking the front door and window for her. You could tell he was excited to see his friend! But the best part happens after she arrives...watch how happy the two Goldens are to see each other. It will make your day!

My favorite part was when Benny picked up his toy to give to his girlfriend...a gift! Their little noises were so cute, too! And I think the moms were just as excited as the dogs were!

Commenters left some adorable comments about Benny and Quincy's encounter. @Samantha Reviews shared, "Such a gentleman walking her in!" @Janicck pointed out, "Aww Benny is such a gentleman. Quincy, it’s green flags all over with this one!" and @Tina added, "Awwww he presented her his toy. Quincy… girl… he’s a keeper!"

Do Dogs Have Best Dog Friends?

Clearly Benny and Quincy adore each other, which made me wonder, can dogs have best dog friends? According to PetMD, they sure can. "It is not an uncommon finding to see pups extend dog companionship to preferred playmates and also have other dog friends hang out with, very similar to human behavior. Based on studies of animals living in natural conditions, we know that social animals can develop bonds with other pack or herd members other than their mates."

They go on to explain having a dog BFF can reduce stress and can provide a degree of comfort and safety for your pooch. Animals with friends exhibit less aggressive behaviors and tend to be more tolerant of their companion’s presence compared to other animals in the group and unfamiliar animals.

Pet MD shares the signs that your dog has a bestie, though you probably can already guess what they are, "Dogs with dog best friends prefer to stay in closer proximity with the other animal. They ignore the other dogs and tend to play more or spend more time in general with their dog best friend. They may be more willing to share their toys, bed, water bowl and general space. Sometimes they may be willing to share their favorite dog treats or dog food, but that is not always the case. Some dogs can have BFFs, but can still be reluctant to share a highly valued resource such as their favorite dog toys, treat, bed or owner." Benny was more than willing to let Quincy have his favorite toy!

A dog's bestie doesn't have to be another dog. Sometimes it might be the cat or other family pet, or even their favorite human. We have a dog and a rabbit, and my dog would love nothing more than to play with the rabbit, but the rabbit will not have it!  It's usually very clear who your dog prefers to hang out with; do you know who your dog's bestie is?
