Google released the 100 best gifts of 2024—here are our favorites

Gift season is my favorite time of the year. I've been writing about products for over a decade now, and though I have years of hands-on experience vetting products and selecting the best Christmas gifts, I can't quite deliver the same insights as Google. Every year, the search giant releases its Holiday 100, or the year's top 100 trending gifts, cultivated from Google search trends and an evaluation of more than 45 billion product listings.

Quick Overview

We combed through all 100 suggestions to find gifts we think our AOL readers will like best. As you shop this season, here's what Google thinks your giftees will love — and why we agree.

I'm a firm believer that the best gifts don't need to drain your bank account. Google has done a great job of mixing budget finds with splurge-worthy pieces this year. Whether you're shopping for that person who's impossible to buy gifts for or your Secret Santa, here are our favorite recommendations from Google that cost less than $100.

Why Google picked it: "Searches for 'Elisa pendant necklace' increased by a glimmering 175% this year."

What we love at AOL: The Kendra Scott Pendant has a near-cult following, especially among teen girls and young adults. It comes in an impressive range of stones, which you can match to your giftee's birth month for a truly special gift.

$55 at Amazon

Why Google picked it: "Searches for 'turntable' spun up this year by 50%."

What we love at AOL: Record players are back — many of the year's best albums are available as records, and music fans are once again building up their record collections with new and old artists. This suitcase record player is among the highest-rated on Amazon and features a fun, colorful outer shell.

$67 at Amazon

Why Google picked it: "For 'hoop earrings,' gold was the top-searched color in 2024."

What we love at AOL: A classy pair of gold hoops accentuates any outfit according to 52-year-old influencer Caroline Baudino. Google recommends this $178 pair from Mejuri, but if you want a more budget-friendly pair, we love this one from Amazon that's only $14 and highly rated among shoppers.

$14 at Amazon

Why Google picked it: "'Robe' searches increase every December."

What we love at AOL: This plush robe is a favorite among Nordstrom shoppers, and right now, it's 60% off as part of the brand's pre-Black Friday sale. It comes in five shades, so you can pick the best one for your giftee.

$40 at Nordstrom

Why Google picked it: "Searches for 'kids scooters' were up 65% in 2024."

What we love at AOL: I may be in my mid-30s, but this scooter still looks like something I'd have a lot of fun playing with. This one is a must for little ones this season. It comes with a scooter, 10 containers of Play-Doh, and a slew of accessories.

$95 at Amazon

Why Google picked it: "Searches for 'skincare kit' doubled in 2024."

What we love at AOL: Ulta is well known for its excellent taste in skincare and beauty brands. If you'd like to pamper your giftee but don't quite know which brand to pick up, this Peach & Lily set makes a great choice. It comes with five full-sized skincare favorites, including a day cream and skin mist.

Why Google picked it: "Searches for 'water flosser' hit a new high."

What we love at AOL: Google's gift guide recommends the Quip flosser, but for our money, we prefer the Waterpik. It's cheaper, features more modes, and has a stronger base of positive reviews. Plus, I own it and vouch for its effectiveness and ease of use.

Why Google picked it: "Every December, searches for 'slippers' see a spike."

What we love at AOL: The Bombas Gripper Slippers are the best slippers I've ever tried. They feel like slipper socks, clouding your feet in warmth without making you feel like you're going to walk straight out of them.

$50 at Nordstrom

Why Google picked it: "Searches for 'sleeping lip mask' glistened this year, up to 70%."

What we love at AOL: Reviewers lose their minds over this mask. It will dip in price for Black Friday, so I recommend holding off on buying for another two weeks. Users coat their lips in the mask, sleep, then peel or wipe it off in the morning to reveal plump, hydrated lips.

$24 at Amazon

Why Google picked it: "Searches for 'tonies set' went up by 5,000% in 2024."

Why Google picked it: "Searches for 'canvas tote bag' hit a new high this year."

What we love at AOL: A large tote can act as a grocery bag, purse, laptop carrier, bookbag — you name it. One time I received an entire bouquet in an LL Bean tote. Google recommends the monogrammed tote from Mark & Graham, but this season, we really love Quince and its simple elegance.

Pair it with the Ben & Jerry's ice cream recipe book for the ultimate Christmas gift.

Why Google picked it: "'Pour over coffee set' searches get hot every December."

What we love at AOL: There are so many different ways to make coffee these days it could make your head spin. But right now, pour over coffee sets are hot, and if you're shopping for someone who cherishes their java, this kit will get them a chic and easy way to make their own craft brew at home.

$60 at Nordstrom

Why Google picked it: "Searches for 'bath soak' have spiked every holiday season since 2009."

What we love at AOL: Goop is known for its high quality (and high price) self-care products. This bath soak is expensive — $35 — but well worth it, according to its users.

$35 at Nordstrom

If your giftee is at the top of Santa's nice list (or you need an excellent gift for your spouse), spending more than $100 can feel necessary. We found a handful of gifts in this price range that we think are definitely worth that splurge if you've got the budget to spend.

Why Google picked it: "Search volume for 'small portable speakers' cranked up by 75% this year."

What we love at AOL: You can't beat the JBL Flip 6 if you're hunting for a Bluetooth speaker. I bought this one for myself, then got one for my 58-year-old father, who works at different sites and needs a way to play music throughout the day. $139 at Amazon

Why Google picked it: "Searches for 'Our Place Oven' were hot in 2024, up 50%."

$198 at Mejuri

Therabody

Why Google picked it: "'Mini Theragun' was the top-searched mini massage gun this year."

What we love at AOL: You don't quite understand the appeal of a massage gun until you buy one. We received one last Christmas and it's been a game-changer for sore muscles or tweaked backs. The Theragun Mini packs a strong punch for its small size and makes an excellent gift option.

$199 at Amazon

Why Google picked it: "Searches for 'indoor garden' bloom every holiday season."

What we love at AOL: The Aerogarden had its moment a few years ago, but this year, it's all about the Click and Grow. It allows your giftee to grow their own plants, like basil, rosemary, and parsely, that they can then use in their cooking.

Why Google picked it: "Searches for 'Boox e-reader' turned a big page this year."

What we love at AOL: Boox is a new brand to me, so after spotting it on Google's list, I did some research. It's an e-reader, like a Kindle, that boasts paper-like pages that are easy on the eyes. It's larger than a Kindle, but also features more tablet-like capabilities, like writing, drawing, and Internet surfing.
