Husky Argues With Dad Just Like a Kid When Told It’s Time to Come Inside

If there's one thing that Siberian Huskies are known for, it's being very communicative. They love to howl, and they also love to "talk" to their humans. And just like human kids sometimes do, they like to argue when they don't get their way. Titan is a Husky who is very, very chatty. In this video his dad shared at the end of November, Titan is enjoying the great outdoors when dad comes out to tell him he has to come inside, but Titan wasn't having it!

Dad first tries to nicely ask Titan to come inside, but Titan says there's no chance that that is going to happen. Make sure your sound is on so you can listen to their conversation. Titan has a lot to say about dad trying to get him to head into the house! Watch until the end to see who wins this battle.

Like me, people loved listening to Titan argue with his dad and left hundreds of comments. @Stellaa shared, "My dog listened to his entire side of the argument...Titan won." and @Rachel North1977 added, "Love Titan. Even his tantrums seem very polite!" @Judith joked, "Typical Husky, it’s their world and we’re just living in it...!" @Nick made me laugh when he said, "Titan was ready to throw paws with Spare Hooman…"

Why are Huskies So Chatty?

There are so many videos out there of chatty Huskies. Sometimes they 'talk' like Titan does, but most of the time they howl...and they're howling pros! Howling is the way this breed communicates with their pack, and their packs can be other Huskies or their humans. When Huskies howl at us humans, it’s their way of talking to us; it's how these dogs express their feelings, alert others of danger, or to protect their pack by telling other dogs to stay away. Sometimes they howl simply because they’re bored. In Titan's case, he was pleading his case and made a strong one for staying outside!

Experts aren't sure why this breed is so vocal. One reason may be what they were originally bred to do, pull sleds. It was part of their job to communicate with their teammates. Chatting with humans is a sign of affection, even though many times it sounds like complaining and arguing, much like with our human children!

The AKC has this to say about vocal Huskies, "Oddly enough, Huskies rarely truly bark. Instead, they use all of their various vocalizations to express themselves. Your Husky will let you know, loudly and often, if they’re excited, bored, feeling defiant, stressed out, or just want to chat with you. Though we may not understand precisely what they’re “saying,” we usually get a pretty good idea of what they mean." I love listening to Huskies talk, but I'm not sure I'd want such a vocal dog in my house!
