Mini Goldendoodle Puppy Can't Contain His Joy When Human Brother Comes Home for the Holidays
The holiday season is special for so many reasons, but nothing is more special than seeing loved ones for the first time in a while. After all, what are the holidays without anyone to be holly jolly with? Even our canine friends like to be involved in the festivities, and they agree that the companionship and joy is one of the best parts of the holidays.
Just ask Mini Goldendoodle Otto, who's experiencing this reunion and joy for the very first time! This sweet puppy has been with his forever family for six whole months now, but he's spent the last few months missing a very important member of his family. His human brother has been away at college, but when he finally came home on November 25, the little dog could hardly contain himself!
These brothers are too cute! It's hard to tell who's happier to see the other, but it's safe to say that their mom is smiling behind the camera, too. In fact, she was the one who shared this priceless moment! Having both of her boys home for the first time this holiday season has to feel like a scene straight out of a movie.

"Last night, we had my son, daughter, and both of their long-term significant others under one roof since mid-August," shared commenter @hmeredith2. "I thought our Golden Retriever mix was going to lose her mind. She was so excited!" Family reunions are just as special to dogs as they are to people, but it's safe to say that dogs show their joy so much more. From tail wags to happy cries--nothing is off limits!
I loved coming home from college to see my family, but my Poodle mix, Carter, was always the first one to meet me at the door. We still have the same routine whenever I visit home, and I can confirm that it never gets old. Even though our greetings look a little different now, they always take me right back to those fun college weekends.
Why Are Dog Greetings so Joyful?
There's no question that dog greetings are so special, but why is this? They'll greet you excitedly whether you've been gone for 5 minutes or 5 months because they are genuinely happy to see you! Dogs are pack animals, and they tend to feel most protected and content when their entire pack is together.
Dogs also develop close bonds with their family members, so it's a big deal when you're together again. When you come home, it's like your dog reuniting with a loved one for the holidays! Their brains actually release oxytocin, AKA 'the love hormone,' when they look at their favorite humans, so be sure to give your dog a proper greeting whenever you come home. Better yet--take notes from Goldendoodle puppy Otto and his human brother!
