McDonald's Brings Back a Sorely Missed Item
Although much was made about McDonald's winnowing down its menu during the pandemic, it's almost 2025 — and McDonald's is facing grumbling over prices that many feel are too high. Now, the burger chain has a plan to lure back customers by offering a low-priced item that has been off the menu for almost 10 years.

McDonald's has needed a way to entice customers back, and they're hoping the return of the Snack Wrap, a low-cost cult favorite, will do the trick.

If you can't remember what a snack wrap is, it's a soft flour tortilla stuffed with either crispy or grilled chicken, cheese, and either ranch or honey mustard sauce.

The price for the snack wrap hasn't been released, but expect it to be lower than burgers. When Snack Wraps were on the menu, they were largely under $2. It's going to be part of the new McValue Menu McDonald's is launching in January.

Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s, told ABC's Good Morning America on Thursday that "The Snack Wrap will be back in 2025" but the specific date is under wraps (yes, pun intended) for "competitive reasons."

The original chicken Snack Wrap was launched in 2006 with help from supermodel Heidi Klum. McDonald's would later add a beef option to its lineup. While the beef version was ditched in 2013, the original lasted until 2016 before it was widely discontinued. Some franchises hung onto it until 2020, but the pandemic was the final nail in the coffin, according to Forbes. They were reportedly dropped because there wasn't enough demand and they took too long to make.
Since they were discontinued, loyal fans have launched numerous petitions and social media requests for McDonald's to bring back the cult favorite. Well, it seems all of the effort finally paid off.
6. What Other Menu Items Has McDonald's Brough Back?
While McDonald's has discontinued many menu items over the years, the company has also brought back a number of cult favorites recently. McD's recently brought back the frequently disappearing McRib, along with a jug of its sauce, along with a seasonal return of its popular holiday pies. The company also recently launched a Chicken Big Mac for a limited time.
